Dr. Azim is a drug developer, Adjunct Professor of Oncology and Senior Oncology Faculty at the College of the European School of Oncology.
He completed his Breast Cancer Fellowship at the Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels and held several academic appointments including Scientific Director at the Jules Bordet Institute and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Oncology at the American University of Beirut and the Monterrey Institute of Technology.
In addition to his academic credentials, Hatem has held a number of senior positions in biotechnology companies leading clinical drug development. These include Vice President and Head of Clinical Development at Innate Pharma, Head of Early Drug Development at Pierre Fabre and Chief Medical Officer at Emergence Therapeutics.
Hatem holds an MSc in Oncology from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He is the recipient of several awards, including the ASCO Merit Award, the ESMO Translational Research Award, the AACR Scholar in Training Award, and the University of Padua Breast Cancer Award.
